"PORT: Navigating Digital Culture" opens this Saturday,
January 25, at the MIT List Visual Arts Center. There
will be a reception the  night before from
5:30 - 7:30pm EST so if you're in the Boston area stop by
and say hello. If you're somewhere else in the world
drop by the PORT Web site (http:artnetweb.com/port/) for
information about connecting with the projects in the
exhibition. You can attend Friday's opening reception via
Lawrence Weiner's "HOMEPORT" Palace project, GH Hovagimyan's 
"ART DIRT" CU-SeeMe French Connection, Sawad Brook's
"PROSTHESIS TO A WELL" Java applet and Ebon Fisher's "ALULA
DIMENSION". 


Meanwhile:
GH  will be in France January 18 to 26
teaching at the Ecole D'Art in Aix-en-Provence.

Simon Watson, the Soho Arts Festival and SIMON SAYS has moved
out of the Broome Street storefront. Their new address is:

Robert Smith has moved the digital section of the
Sculpture Center into the storefront.

PORT: NAVIGATING DIGITAL CULTURE

PORT is an exhibition of networked digital worlds on the
Internet organized by artnetweb for the MIT List Visual Arts
Center, January 25 through March 29, 1997. Scheduled,
time-based Internet projects by individuals and groups will
be projected into the physical gallery space and accessible
over the Internet during the duration of the exhibition.

Projects will develop over the time of the exhibition. To

Magazine Seeking Submissions

PhotoStatic Magazine began publishing in 1983 as a
magazine of graphic artwork produced on the xerox machine.
The magazine was renamed Retrofuturism in 1989 and now
proposes a new series using the combined names to begin
in 1997. The emphasis will be on graphics (designs,
photographs, collages, etc.) and essays (theoretical,
personal, humorous, etc.)
